  • Richardson is a large business based in Farnborough, Hampshire, with a £20m turnover and focus on building refurbishment and maintenance.

    They came to us with a need for a brand refresh, and to look specifically at:

    • The logo and identity: it’s standout and the need for more flexible formats and shapes for use on various materials – both printed and physical (vans, signage etc.)
    • A refresh of stationery and presentation materials
    • Consistency of their brand approach

  • We got to know the business and the direction the senior team wanted the brand to take by:

    • Understanding where and how branding would be used
    • Using Brand Glue questionnaires to get the senior team and Richardson people to articulate what they thought about the brand and where it should be heading

    With these insights we got to work on the brand refresh and Richardson’s materials:

    • Designing new logo options to increase stand-out of the wordmark and new variations for use use in different shapes/applications on buildings
    • Set a new brand personality, tone of voice and visual identity to contemporise the brand
    • Used the new identity through business stationery and PowerPoint slides
    • Set and designed brand guidelines to outline how the brand and design work should be consistently applied
